The Artist's Oath — sworn when I place my songs in the hands of the Circus.
Meet your curator
The Ringmistress holds the whole night.
I'm McCall. I built this ring, and I curate every hour of it — the performers, the songs, the genres each one will wear, and the running order that carries the room from the first note to the last.
You bring me songs you already know in your bones. I decide what costume they walk out in. That's the trade. That's the trust. Hand me something familiar and I'll hand it back to you as something you've never met.
— McCall, your Ringmistress
The Premise
"I'm not volunteering to be unprepared. I'm volunteering to be surprised."
What am I agreeing to?
You agree to place your songs in the hands of the Circus — to sing a song you know, in a genre the Circus chooses.
What do I get to choose?
You choose the 1–5 songs you know cold. That's yours. No one takes that away.
What remains a surprise?
The genre and arrangement — the "Wrong Genre" treatment — stays hidden until the first notes at the microphone.
How prepared will I be?
You'll know which song you're singing before the show or when you arrive. You will not know the arrangement. That's the point of the oath.
The Circus Curates. You Create.

You Reveal
You meet the song at the microphone and make it yours.
What the oath leads to
And then the curtain moves.
The curtain draws back. Nothing is revealed to you before this moment — the arrangement stays sealed until the first notes.
You reach the microphone. A real room, real people, and a song you know cold wearing a costume you've never heard.
You make it yours. The band leans in, the room moves, and the surprise becomes the performance only you could give.
Take the oath
Seal it.
I choose the songs. The circus chooses what they will wear.
This ceremonial seal is symbolic. It does not submit your songs or record your operational acceptance. Your official Artist's Oath acceptance is recorded when you submit your song selections.
